Steam cleaner is also effective in removing stains and smells on mattresses and upholstery.

Warm water and white vinegar can also be great in eliminating stains. You just have to mix half cup of vinegar into a quart of warm water then put the solution into the area where the cat urinated and cover it with an absorbent cloth to push the solution deep into the spot. Leave it for several hours and let it dry. To make sure your solution doesn’t have discoloration effect, you can run a test first before applying the mixture.

After you’ve extensively cleaned the area, you can now use a deodorizer to leave a fresh clean scent all over your house. Use a deodorizer that is made specifically for pet stains and smell. There are lots of products to choose from in the market.
